Troop Operational Guidelines

TROOP MEETINGS:  - Mondays  7:00 – 8:30 PM

·         All regular Monday evening Troop meetings will be from 7:00 – 8:30pm and will be held at the Scout House at the Second Congregational Church unless otherwise notified.

·         Class A Scout uniforms are required.  Scouts with incomplete uniforms will assist in clean-up duties.

TROOP CONFERENCE CALLS - Thursdays 8:00 – 9:00 PM

·         Troop 9 conducts planning conference calls on Thursday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:00pm .

·         Parent Advisors for the month, Senior Patrol Leaders, and Patrol Leaders are responsible for conducting and establishing the agenda for the calls.

·         The Thursday night call is a regular meeting of the Patrol Leaders Council.

·         It is used to plan meetings and other events. All scouts are encouraged to participate in the calls.

Note:  The Senior Patrol Leader will designate an older Scout to coordinate and lead each meeting and conference call following the Scout guidelines. These will be organized around the monthly themes along with the Patrol assigned for the month.

PARTICIPATION IN TROOP ACTIVITIES

Scout participation in all Troop events, activities and campouts is contingent upon:

·         Scout’s demonstration of and commitment to the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, Slogan and Outdoor Code.

·         Active participation in Troop meetings.

·         Sign-up and commitment by the Monday meeting prior to the weekend of the planned event (unless an earlier commitment is required or unless the commitment is open.)

·        For campouts, upon attendance at the pack-check the Friday of the event.

·         Submission of Parental Authorization form(if required)

·         Completed and submitted Scout and Family contact, medical and vehicle information.

·         Must be in good standing with the Troop in regards to dues and payments.

·        Parental commitment to assist in at least two Scout activities over the course of the year.

·        All scouts should bring their Scout Handbooks to each meeting as merit badge/rank advancement activities might occur at any meeting.

·        Scouts are responsible to check Troop 9’s records in Troop Master for accuracy and completeness.

MERIT BADGE MONDAYS

·        One Monday each month (except September), Troop 9 will conduct a meeting that is specifically geared toward achieving objectives for a merit badge or rank advancement as appropriate for the seniority of each patrol.
